Buffalo’s Off Leash Area

Help us create an Off Leash Recreational Area (Dog Park) on Buffalo’s Waterfront. We believe that dog parks:
- Improve the heath and good citizenship of canines through exercise & socialization
- Knit together an important community social fabric among dog owners
- Create venues to promote responsible dog ownership & education
- Promote ownership and pride in our public spaces
- Show case & deepen our commitment to Buffalo’s greatest asset: Our Waterfront.
We envision and support a series of officially sanctioned Off Leash Areas across our region in both fenced and unfenced formats organized by citizen action groups in coordination with our local municipalities.
It is time that Buffalo join the 250 other communities around the country who have established Off Leash Areas for dogs. Contact us at BuffaloDogs@hotmail.com

I have a small dog and would like to find small dog playmates. Are there any plans to set up “Small Dog” hours?

Can you please post the Small-Dog (Abner) Hours prominently on the blog (and maybe, below “Rules” at the park?) It would help make the transition is easier for everyone to comply with — there was confusion last week about what hours. It’s great that the website is restored — thanks to everyone who made this park-in-a-park possible!

I was just by the park. Unfortunately the gate has been damaged today. The whole front gate is down.

I have heard the OLA is going to be moved because of it’s proximity to the water department.Does anyone know if this is true and if so where it may move to.
